The phone call that arrived on Boxing Day 2010 did not bring cheer.  Burst pipes had saturated the entire downstairs of our Northumbrian cottage and, over a thousand miles away here in the South of France, we were now reliant on neighbours to deal with the immediate aftermath of the flood.

Last winter prolonged freezing temperatures had caused burst pipe mayhem throughout the UK, and dehumidifiers were thin on the ground. Fearful of further damage caused by delay, we trawled the internet and discovered D A (UK) Ltd - one of the UK's leading providers of drying equipment, with an office based in Tynedale.  Within a day, D A (UK) Manager, Dave Smyth had installed dehumidification equipment in our cottage, and the drying out process started.

Over the next few weeks, Dave returned regularly to check on and modify the dehumidification treatment. When everything was dry, Dave project managed for us the redecoration and reinstatement of the cottage...to an exemplary level.
